  • Nature's medicine cabinet could yield hundreds of new drugs - Far from being fully explored, the plant world probably contains at least 500 medically useful chemicals that could be developed as drugs or used as the basis for further drug research. That's the conclusion of an analysis by Dr. James S. Miller, Dean and Vice President for Science at the New York Botanical Garden and a leading expert in the medicinal use of plants. His analysis is in the December issue of the journal Economic Botany.
