Helium-3 nanoscopic NMR
Magnetic fingerprints of superfluid helium-3 - With their SQUIDs, low-temperature specialists of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt have made it possible for the magnetic moments of atoms of the rare isotope 3He to be measured with extreme sensitivity. With the aid of these sensors, highly sensitive nuclear resonance spectrometers were developed which have now provided deep insights into the state of matter at extremely low temperatures. The results have been published in the current edition of the magazine Science.(10.1126/science.1233621)
